Did you hear the Halicarnassos ?

Halicarnassus is an ancient city belonging to the Carian period, located in the Bodrum district of Muğla.
The exact origin of the name Halicarnassus is unknown. According to Herodotus, who was also from Halicarnassus, and the geographer Strabo, Halicarnassus was founded by Hellenic immigrants of Doric origin. Halicarnassos is best known as the birthplace of Herodotus, known as the “Father of History”, and for the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Ancient Theater, city walls and Myndos Gate, Maussolleion, necropolis (cemetery) areas with ongoing excavations, Roman Villa, Mars Temple, Bodrum Castle are the main ruins of Halicarnassos.
